Shockey expected back with Saints
Saints beat writer Jeff Duncan fully expects Jeremy Shockey to return to the team in 2009.
Coach Sean Payton believes Shockey's slow first year in New Orleans isn't indicative of his long-term value. Duncan expects Shockey to be "a fixture of the Saints offense for the next couple of seasons, at least." His 2009 base pay ($3.024 million) is quite manageable and a full, healthy offseason should lead to increased production for Shockey next season.
