Saints RB Bush inactive; Shockey, Patten active
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush was inactive for Sunday's 34-20 defeat against the Atlanta Falcons, as he is still recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery.
Bush hurt the knee in a loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 7, and he has not played since. The former Heisman Trophy winner leads the Saints with eight touchdowns this season, including three on punt returns. He is the team's leading rusher with 294 yards and has also posted 42 catches for 366 yards.
Tight end Jeremy Shockey and wide receiver David Patten were both active for Sunday's game. Shockey has now played in three consecutive games but missed the previous three after undergoing sports hernia surgery. He registered two catches for 16 yards to give him 24 receptions for 223 yards this season.
Patten missed the previous four games with a groin injury. With his two catches and 35 yards on Sunday, he has 11 receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown on the season.
